McDonald's to Celebrate Lunar New Year in the Metaverse

Mcdonald's will be partnering up with digital entrepreneur and storyteller, Karen X. Cheng to celebrate the Lunar New Year. You will be able to witness the transition from the Year of the Tiger to the Year of the Rabbit through an immersive 3D experience.

Here are the quick facts:

• McDonald's x Cheng partner up to launch a digital event for the Lunar New Year.

• Users can celebrate by exploring virtual versions of traditional Asian influences.

• The metaverse will be available to explore on the Spatial app using any connected devices.

• Users can also boost their experience by customizing their 3D avatar in the Spatial app.

• You will also be allowed to join in on various activities, including traditional Chinese games, cooking, and virtual zoos.

Yves Saint Laurent Files for NFT Trademark Application

Yves Saint Laurent, the famous luxury brand, known for its luxury shows, makeup, and clothes, seeks to expand into NFTs and the metaverse this year. Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) filed a trademark with the U.S Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on January 12, 2023.

Here are the quick facts:

• The trademark was filed on January 12, 2023 for its name and logo to enter the NFT space.

• With this Patent, Yves Saint Laurent looks to offer virtual goods in the metaverse via NFTs.

• In addition to those things, the luxury brand seeks to build an on-chain virtual store.

• The digital assests that YSL hopes to create are illustrations, text, music, and videos that could be traded through NFTs.

• This is a good sign for the NFT space and the metaverse since Yves Saint Laurent joins a long list of brands and companies joining the metaverse.

Yuga Labs' Sewer Pass NFT Collection Nets Over $6M

If you are an owner of a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) or Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) NFT, well your investment continues to pay off. Yuga Labs released its Sewer Passes for minting on Wednesday, yielding over 4,000 ETH (over $6 million) in sales volume within hours of release.

Here are the quick facts:

• Holders of BAYC or MAYC were eligible to claim a free Sewer Pass on Wednesday, which allows you to play their skill-based game called Dookey Dash.

• The sewer pass is broken up into four tiers, based on whether you were a holder of BAYC, MAYC, or Bored Ape Kennel Club NFT.

• Tier 1 Sewer Pass on the secondary NFT marketplace OpenSea are going for as much as 1.3 ETH ($1,970).

• Compare that with a Tier 4 Sewer Pass selling on the secondary market for 420 ETH ($640,000).

In addition to that, the Sewer Passes had certain conditions coded into it, including a blocklist of certain wallets. Some of the addresses blocked belong to secondary marketplaces like LooksRare and NFTX. This was done to enforce 5% creator royalty fee.

Moonbirds Grails Season III is Now Live

• PROOF's Grails Season III is Live and offering Mint Pass holders unique collectibles.

• The collectibles for Grails Season III were created by 20 artists assembled by PROOF.

• Some of the artists include top-selling NFT artists of all time, whose identities will be revealed within the next 5 days.

• Each Grail has 50 editions, and once the first 50 are minted, no further Editions will be produced.

Project Drone Galaxy Drops Trailer, Release Date

Those looking for a groundbreaking game set to hit the metaverse, Project Drone Galaxy might be your thing. This metaverse game recently released its teaser trailer and it is set to launch on Algroland later this year.

• Project Drone Galaxy is a multiplayer drone racing experience in the metaverse that was created by Playground Labs.
